DYNEEMA® FABRIC: STRONGER-THAN-STEEL PROTECTION

BUFF® Safety uses the best cut-resistant fabric that reduces the risk of cuts while still providing comfort for the user. Dyneema® is a highly advanced fabric that is 15 times stronger than steel—and that’s many times better than any other anti-cut neck protection. Yet, it is conveniently lightweight: 30% lighter than polyester and nylon, and 45% lighter than aramid.
Combined with Nomex®, BUFF® Safety products also offer cut + fire-resistant protection. This additional protection is especially needed by riot police, for instance, who are not only exposed to cut hazards but also fire hazards from explosions. Nomex® has excellent flame-retardant properties, is resistant to high temperatures, and will not melt, drip, or combust in air. Thanks to two outer layers of Nomex® and an inner layer of Dyneema®, BUFF® Safety Cut + Fire-Resistant Neckwear offer the full coverage needed in such high-risk situations.
Cut resistance in personal protective equipment is rated on a scale of A to F under the EN ISO 13997:1999 standard. BUFF® Safety cut-resistant neck gaiters are rated with High Cut Protection Level D as protective clothing resistant to cutting by sharp objects. The fabric used in the CUT RESISTANT family also complies with the EN 388:2016 standard, specifically, article 6.3 for cut resistance against mechanical risks due to sharp objects.
